Main causes of pavement cracks

◎ When the pavement is subjected to the repeated impact of the driving vehicle load, especially under the action of overload, the adjacent plates of the cement concrete pavement frequently move up and down, and the corresponding parts of the asphalt concrete deformation stress concentration, resulting in cracking of the asphalt concrete pavement layer.

Selection of width of anti-cracking paste

Self-adhesive anti-cracking paste construction guide

1. Basic Requirements for Cement Concrete Pavement

(1), cement concrete plate must be stable. When the deflection value and the height difference between adjacent sides exceed the design requirements, the subgrade shall be reinforced.

(2), cement concrete pavement of various gaps (including expansion joints, construction joints, plate fracture cracks, etc.), shall be filled with flexible materials, filling height and pavement level.

(3) The broken and loose cement concrete shall be removed, and the defective parts shall be repaired and leveled. Asphalt concrete or quick-drying cement concrete can be used as the repair material.

(4), cement concrete plate surface requirements flat, clean, dry (water content is not more than 10%), not sand.

2. base course cleaner

Before paving the "anti-cracking paste", the special treatment (cleaning) agent for the base surface should be painted on the cleaned base surface. Construction considerations

(1) The cement concrete pavement must be dry before construction. The base surface shall not be constructed in wet, rainy and snowy days.

(2) After construction, the "anti-cracking paste" must be compacted with sand bag or rubber tire roller to prevent rainwater from entering the "anti-cracking paste" bonding surface before paving asphalt concrete. If heavy rain is expected before the asphalt concrete is to be spread, it shall be sealed with sealant on both sides of the "anti-cracking patch.

(3), when the temperature is lower than 5 ℃, it is not suitable for construction.

(4) When paving asphalt concrete, the vehicle shall not be rolled and turned around on the spot on the "anti-cracking sticker.

(5) When the slope is greater than 5%, the width of "anti-cracking paste" should not be greater than 330mm. When paving the underlying asphalt concrete, a small amount of slippage may occur, which should be repaired in time without affecting the quality of the project.

(6) The total thickness of paving asphalt concrete shall not be less than 6cm.

(7) When the height difference of the adjacent side is greater than 1cm or there are many potholes, the part shall be leveled before paving to prevent the "anti-cracking paste" laid on the depression from being damaged by gravity. Leveling material can be leveled with epoxy mortar or asphalt mixture.
